With over a decade of communications and community-building experience, my current obsession is digital and social media strategy.
Most recently I was head of the social media team at the national green-news website Grist, where I was responsible for all of its social initiatives. From setting annual social media goals and overseeing the day-to-day community management to collaborating with the editorial team to optimize headlines and daily content, I widened audience reach and dramatically increased traffic and engagement with readers.
I also implemented strategies that doubled Grist’s Facebook and Twitter audience in the first six months I was in the role. Upon leaving the company, I had quadrupled the organization’s social media community —building active, highly engaged online communities that also include social media platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube and Google Plus.
